There can only be one problem in this scenario: the username or password is being received incorrectly.
Make sure you delete any spaces before you start typing the username and password, and if you have the password saved make sure you delete it and try it again.
Also make sure you use your mouse to move the cursor from the username box to the password box to assure you are not adding any strange characters when you move.
